Victor E. Portes, P. Eng., SBA, PMP
Mr. Portes received his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in 1987 from Zulia University, Venezuela. and his post-grade degree in Business Administration in 2002. He got his Professional Engineer accreditation from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in 2009; his Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 2010; and his Advanced Project Management diploma from Husky Energy and the University of Calgary in 2011.
A progressive career of +35 years of professional experience from Detailed Design, Field Engineering, and Project Controls, to Project & Company Management gives Mr. Portes an overall understanding of Oil & Gas, Mining, and Green Energy projects. His international experience in Latin-America together with his North American experience in Houston and Baton Rouge, and his Canadian experience since 2006, gives Mr. Portes the perfect combination of knowledge of international business and local expertise.
Experience in all Project Stages (Select, Define, Execute, and Commissioning & Start-Up) for onshore & offshore projects of different sizes helps Mr. Portes to understand almost any kind of project within the Oil & Gas Industry, as well as in other industries like Mining, Rail, Renewables and Green Initiatives.
Experience in both EPC and Owner Companies confers Mr. Portes a wide understanding of projects, including contracting strategy, bidding coordination, contracts administration; and claims preparation & negotiation.
Zoraya B. Torres, Bachelor in Civil Engineering
Mrs. Torres received her Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in 1989 from Zulia University, Venezuela.
Her abroad projects professional experience includes Structural Design, Quality Control, MTO & Estimation, Projects Supervision, and Plant Engineer.
As an entrepreneur she also ventured into the retail business in Venezuela which experience helped her to also begin venturing in the retail business in Canada.
